Chandra Bahadur Dangi is the worlds shortest adult man to ever be documented.
Dangi is a 72-year-old man living in a remote valley in south western Nepal and is the Guinness World Record holder for worlds shortest man.
Dangi is a tiny 54.6cm (21.5 inches tall). This makes his 5.3cm shorter than the previous worlds shortest man, Filipino Junrey Balawing.
India’s Gul Mohammed was the shortest man ever documented, but Dangi is 2cm shorter than him making him the new record holder. Mohammed the previous owner of that title died in 1997 at the age of 40.
Dangi could be making other records too! If it is proved that he really is 72 years old he would then be the oldest shortest man. It is remarkable that he has lived so long. However, it is very sad to hear about Dangi’s life. Since the age of 12 he has been an orphan and his relatives would put him in freak shows in order to gain profit from him. Dangi hopes that this new recognition will help change his fortunes. As he has also never had a wife. He thinks that he is too old to find a wife now but would still like to travel and meet people from across the globe.
